Suppliers are as critical to OsteoMed as our employees and shareholders. Accordingly, we want to ensure that we properly communicate our expectations, beliefs and requirements. Our goal is to develop long-term relationships which are profitable for all, and allow for future growth and opportunities. Just as there are good and bad suppliers, there are good and bad customers. OsteoMed is committed to being a good customer to our dedicated suppliers. The OsteoMed Supplier Requirements Manual provides an outline of the requirements and expectations for strategic suppliers. OsteoMed is committed to establishing long-term relationships with those suppliers who are committed to continuous improvements in the areas of quality, delivery, cost and service.

Supply Chain Management Team
OsteoMed’s diversified Supply Chain Management Team (SCMT) provides a comprehensive and balanced review of current and potential suppliers. As a group, the team concentrates on new supplier selection and improving supplier performance by evaluating quality, delivery, costs and service. The SCMT establishes and maintains OsteoMed’s supply chain strategy, evaluates potential and current suppliers, resolves supply chain issues, addresses supplier concerns, administers the Suppliers of the Year program and maintains the OsteoMed Supplier Requirements Manual. The SCMT consists of members from Purchasing, Quality, Production Control, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering and Engineering.
The SCMT is dedicated to improving supplier performance. A real-time Supplier Performance Report is used to provide up to date performance measurements on all strategic suppliers. The report is used extensively by Engineering and Senior Management for selecting and approving existing suppliers for new product development projects. All of the OsteoMed strategic suppliers are sent copies of their report on a quarterly basis and where necessary, monthly.
The Supply Chain Management Team hosts the OsteoMed Supplier Conference for strategic suppliers on a biennial basis. The conference provides an update on OsteoMed by the President/CEO, outline of current supplier requirements and expectations, a tour, a special continuous improvement topic or speaker and Supplier of the Year Awards. In addition, suppliers are given the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the SCMT to discuss any specific issues. The past conferences were highly rated by OsteoMed’s strategic partners.
